The heart of a hardwood installation contractor or company is tied to the quality of it's installers. We have searched hard to find the most talented hardwood installers in the Boston area.

When we are done your hardwood floor will not only be beautiful but it will be installed correctly so it stays beautiful for a long time like hardwood should!

Hardwood flooring installation always needs to be done over a well supported floor.

A minimum of ¾ of an inch of plywood in most cases is enough to accomplish this.  Particleboard is simply not sturdy enough as a substrate for the installation of hardwood.

For new installations red rosin paper should be installed first as an underlayment for the hardwood; this is used as a vapor barrier for moisture that typically comes from most basements.  It is a important to install this vapor barrier to prevent, warping bowing and rotting of your new wood.

When hardwood is installed over concrete floors special preparation is required. The floor needs to be flat, smooth and clean of any debris. It is best to install engineered hardwood in this case. We will either install the hardwood as a floating floor or glue it down.

Since these woods are not as thick as standard Hardwood flooring at times it is necessary to be creative from the standpoint of transitions.

It is not possible to refinish engineered wood because at the core the wood is different than the topcoat of the wood. Due to this these floors are engineered to be a lot more durable.

Many times there will be a baseboard or molding that need to be removed before to the hardwood installation. Sometimes we can remove it without damaging it and reinstall it after the hardwood is installed.

In New England because of the climate, seasonal changes and extreme temperature changes hardwood will expand and contract a lot. Therefore during installation of the hardwood the installer should leave a minimum of a 1/8-inch expansion joint when the wood is cut to a wall.

When you purchase your pre-finished hardwood you can also buy matching pre-finished transitions.

It is vital that pre-finished hardwood be left to acclimate to the environment where it is to be installed for at least 24 to 48 hours before it's installation. This allows it to expand, contract or swell prior to it's installation.

Pre-finished hardwood, when installed properly is guaranteed for 25 - 50 years. Check with the specific manufacturer and we will install it according to the hardwood installation manual from them to keep the guarantee in force.
